Safety Precautions
For Core Drilling

Safety Gears

For clients of our diamond core drilling and sawing company, we understand it’s important to see the progress on a particular project. However, there are a few things you need to know before walking onto a construction site. We provide some safety precautions for core drilling.

Wear the Appropriate Equipment and Clothing

Various dangers present themselves to core drillers on a construction site that can affect hearing, vision, and so much more. That’s why the first important safety precaution for core drilling is for workers and visitors to wear the proper clothing and equipment. Essential equipment includes a hard hat, safety glasses, and earplugs.

In addition to the equipment, show up to the site wearing more rugged clothing. Construction workers also need to wear boots and pants, and they’re required by OSHA to wear highly visible garments when work is done in high-traffic areas, such as a highway. You will likely be given a vest that will allow you to stand out if necessary too.

Obey Signs

A construction site also needs various signs scattered on the outside and inside of the site. When you come across these signs, make sure you obey them so that you can avoid any hazards. Construction signs are always there for a reason.

Be with a Guide

Anything can happen on a construction site at any given moment, so it’s also important that a professional guides you if you’re just visiting a site. There could be various dangers from other elements of construction you might not know about. Stick close to your guide and let them navigate you throughout the construction site.

Be Aware of Your Surroundings

A conduction project involves a lot of moving parts, literally. To the best of your ability, be wary of your surroundings, even if you’re following a guide. Also, stay away from the core drilling equipment because the excess debris can get into the air.
